Jamie’s Book Talks and More hones students’ reading and writing skills through literary discussions. Through our interactive sessions, we engage students in the rich discussions with both the instructor and their peers. We also understand the importance of having our students respond to text in writing. With the emphasis schools are placing on both reading and writing, we work to ensure our students are successful in both arenas.
Book Talks and More is offered to boys and girls from ages 9-12. To ensure we meet your child's needs, we provide a variety of sessions from which you can select. Our class size does not exceed 8 students (minimum of 3 students).
Jamie Stephenson is a lifelong educator. With over 25 years working with students of all grade levels, she understands the impact that high-quality instruction has on the development of students.
Jamie is a mother of 3 sons. As with all kids, each has his own learning style. Even though they attended some of the same schools, each performed differently in school. While desperately trying to crack the educational code for her own children, she discovered the importance of customizing instruction to fit her sons’ needs.
In her Book Talks, she works to gain a comprehensive understanding of each student with whom she works. She says that knowing your students is the only way to maximize their progress.
Jamie is passionate about supporting students reach their full potential. While her Book Talks are designed to supplement students' educational, students often improve their performance in school as the apply the skills and strategies taught in Book Talks and More.
All of our classes are taught online. As a result, students can engage in lessons regardless of their locations. As long as you have access to the internet and a devise that includes a chat box or live video chat, you can participate in our online sessions.
Jamie has spent her entire professional life supporting the academic development of students. She remains abreast of the latest research and incorporates it into her online classes.
